Relative of Former President Antti Lepistö Interns at Finlandia

It was the middle of June when Megan Gmitro arrived to begin her summer internship with Finlandia University, a place that holds so much of her family history. Gmitro is the great granddaughter of former FinnU president Antti Lepistö. Lepistö served as president from 1927 to 1930 after moving to Hancock from Mäntyharju, Finland. 129 honored on Fall 2018 Dean’s and Honors List

Finlandia mourns loss of former president, Robert Ubbelohde

Finlandia University is saddened to announce the passing of former university president, Robert Ubbelohde.

Ubbelohde joined Finlandia, then Suomi College, in 1988 as the Dean of Faculty. Shortly after, he was appointed to President and Professor of Philosophy until his retirement in 2007. Ubbelohde was instrumental in converting Suomi College into Finlandia University, a baccalaureate degree granting institution.

Finlandia University is excited to welcome Hancock-native James Brey to the Admissions team as an Enrollment Officer. Brey has a Bachelor’s in Business Management from Finlandia.

Finlandia students created a delicious array of food for their fellow students, staff, and faculty, and community members at the annual Diversity Dinner last night. Dishes included bolitas de mofongo, arroz con leche, jambalaya, carne frita, sushi, and karjalan piirakka with egg butter. Wear Denim on R.A.I.N.N. Day to Support Sexual Assault Survivors

Wear denim on R.A.I.N.N. day, Thursday, September 21 to show support for survivors of sexual assault. In conjunction, campus clubs will host activities at Finlandia Hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. as part of the It’s On Us event series.
