North Wind Books to host Angeline Boulley, author of NYT Bestseller “Firekeeper’s Daughter”

North Wind Books at Finlandia University will be hosting Angeline Boulley, author of New York Times Bestseller “Firekeeper’s Daughter”, for an author presentation and book signing on Thursday, September 30 starting at 3 p.m.

Parade of Nations announced for Sept. 18

Hello!

Michigan Technological University and Finlandia University invite you to join us in celebrating the 32nd annual Parade of Nations, on September 18, 2021. Come celebrate the cultural diversity of the Keweenaw region!

The parade will start at 11:00 am. Due to the ongoing construction in town, the parade route will be different this year. It will start at Franklin Square in Houghton, go through downtown, and finish at Kestner Park.

Hancock announces summer movie schedule on Quincy Green

The City of Hancock has announced their summer movie schedule to be held Thursdays at sundown on Quincy Green, nestled into the cozy corner knoll between the Hirvonen CHS building and the Finnish American Heritage Center. Finlandia’s community is encouraged and welcome to attend the free events, just don’t forget your blanket and snacks! Finlandia University Student Nurses Take Part in Free Skin Cancer Screening Event May 25

 

Finlandia University campus welcomes dermatologist, Dr. Milton Soderberg and staff to campus on Saturday, May 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Finnish American Heritage Center.

Soderberg will be working with Hannah Wilson, PA-C, and Jordan Brooks, MD as well as the Finlandia student nurses to conduct free screenings for skin cancer.
