Digging into Diversity Dinner with Dewan Keeling

Black Student Union President Dewan Keeling dropped by Finlandia Fridays this week to talk about his experiences at FinnU and the upcoming Diversity Dinner.  Keeling is a junior from Detroit, who is majoring in healthcare management.

“The Diversity Dinner is where our students can come and get together to make dishes that replicate where they are from,” stated Keeling. “It’s a way to make them feel more at home.”

The Black Student Union at Finlandia University is hosting a screening of “Freedom Writers” on March at Wargelin 303. The event will begin at 7 p.m., is free for all students and employees, and snacks will be available.

Opportunity knocked and Keith Arnold answered

Laying in his dorm room during the first week of school, this week’s Finlandia Fridays guest Keith Arnold could barely sleep. The relative quietness of his surrounding, compared to the freeways and hustle and bustle of his hometown of Detroit was almost all encompassing to the 18-year-old Finlandia University freshman. That didn’t last long though.

Finlandia Fridays studies abroad with Schwartzen Jarmond

This week on Finlandia Fridays host Michael H. Babcock is taken on a reminiscent adventure as management and entrepreneurship student Schwartzen Jarmond looks back on international study opportunities presented through Finlandia University.
