Gift a Finals Week Care Package to a FinnU Student

Nursing Alumna Melissa Meier (’09) joins Hospitalist Team at UPHS-Portage

Finlandia University alumna Melissa Meier (’09), MSN, APRN, NC-C, CCRN accepted a new position at UP Health System-Portage with its Hospitalist Team.

Meier earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Finlandia before receiving her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner from Olivet Nazarene University.

Nursing Class of 2019 Celebrates 100 Percent NCLEX Pass Rate

Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduates from the class of 2019 are celebrating a 100 percent first time pass rate of their National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). This is the second time in four years a graduating class has achieved a 100 percent first time pass rate on the notoriously difficult exam.

Kurt Hilden (’71) Grateful for Liberal Arts Education; LGBTQ Allies at FinnU

Kurt Hilden’s (’71) journey through life has been anything but boring.

A native of the Copper Country, Hilden graduated from Lake Linden high school in 1969. Despite moving west, a moment of Hilden’s family history is forever captured at the Houghton County Museum in Lake Linden in the form of a painting of his paternal grandfather’s family by the Finnish artist, Toyra. Hilden described the painting at “primitive” but it is registered with the Smithsonian.
