Hancock Promise application deadline extended to May 1 for Hancock grads

Finlandia’s Hancock Promise deadline has been extended to May 1. This means Hancock Central High School students who are interested in attending FinnU in Fall 2022 will have additional time to start their application process.

The Hancock Promise allows for Hancock Central High School graduates to attend Finlandia University at a tuition cost of up to only $2,500 per school year. Beginning in 2009, approximately 18-26 students have taken advantage of the program annually.

Michigan’s FAFSA priority deadline extended to May 1

Michigan high school seniors who want to be given priority consideration for State of Michigan financial aid programs now have extra time to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid, according to the Michigan Department of Treasury. The FAFSA priority deadline has been extended to May 1.

FinnU Shark Day hosting local students for entrepreneurship competition

On this week’s episode of Finlandia Fridays, Education Partner Manager and Dual Enrollment Advisor Lauren Huested joins the show to talk about FinnU Shark Day. A play on the show Shark Tank, the March 9 event focuses on teaching students in their junior and senior years about entrepreneurship, creativity, working in a team and public speaking skills. Sawadogo joins Copper Country Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors

Meet Kat Hanson, Admissions’ newest Enrollment Counselor

Finlandia is pleased to welcome new Enrollment Counselor Kat Hanson to the Enrollment team. Hanson comes to Finlandia University with an educational background from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota with two Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Race & Ethnic Studies. Prior to accepting the position at FinnU, Hanson worked three years in the athletic department at St. Olaf. Early Bird Scholarship available for incoming students who submit transcripts by Jan. 1

Finlandia University is awarding a new, one-time $500 scholarship for Fall 2022 to students who submit their transcripts to Finlandia Admissions by Jan. 1, 2022. The Early Bird Scholarship is awarded to the student upon acceptance to the university.

Finlandia to offer Online RN-BSN at $7,500: Learning more with Sherry Wyeth

Dean of Enrollment talks 60 in 60 on Finlandia Fridays

Dean of Enrollment Anthony Schwass joins Finlandia Fridays this week to talk about the admissions team’s new campaign, 60 in 60.

“There are roughly 60 high schools and career technical education centers, or CTE’s, in the U.P. and we’re planning on visiting them all in 60 days,” Schwass said. “We aren’t just popping in once and not coming back until the next year. Our plan is really to build the relationships we have with these local schools into true partnerships.”
