Six Finlandia University students and two staff members traveled to Tanzania in May for the 11th annual Service and Learning in Tanzania experience.

During their three weeks in Tanzania, students participate in curricular and co-curricular activities at Kisarawe Lutheran Jr. Seminary (a secondary school), shadow nurses at the national hospital, and stay with host families. These relationship building opportunities along with accompanying reflection activities help students grow in their understanding of Servant Leadership and engage in self-exploration.

The Finlandia University Marketing and Communications Department is proud to announce the launch of a new website. The website went live Thursday, June 2 at finlandia.edu.

Summer program accepting applications until April 30

A unique partnership between Finlandia University and JAMK University in Jyväskylä, Finlandia offers Finlandia students a 50 percent discount on tuition during the summer 2016 semester.

“We’re excited to offer this opportunity to all of our students,” said Kevin Manninen, dean of FinnU’s business school. “The incredibly discounted tuition rate makes it an affordable opportunity.”

Servant Leadership

Students at Finlandia University have the opportunity to develop servant leadership values and skills through specially designated religion courses.

Students participate in service activities, both locally and globally, with accompanying reflection activities; grow in their academic understanding of servant leadership; and engage in self-exploration.

Comparative Criminal Justice Course Trip 2022

Criminal Justice Trip

Students interested in traveling and studying criminal justice have the opportunity to take a trip to Finland.

The course usually lasts 17-18 days and occurs after the end of the spring semester. Students will travel from Hancock to Helsinki. Students usually stay in Helsinki for a night and then travel to Tampere, Finland.
