Ponsse Einari Vidgrén Foundation Internship returns for Finlandia students in 2023

Application period is expected to open in December 2022

Ponsse and Finlandia University are pleased to announce an upcoming internship opportunity for a Finlandia University student. The internship will last approximately five to six weeks, including two at Ponsse North America in Rhinelander, Wisconsin and three at Ponsse Plc Headquarters in Vieremä, Finland. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is the first Ponsse internship offering since 2019.

Finlandia to host grand opening of Hirvonen Hall July 23

Finlandia University is pleased to announce that it will host a grand opening of Hirvonen Hall on Saturday, July 23, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Now home to Finlandia’s College of Health Sciences programs, the iconic former Hancock Public Schools building also serves as the location of the Finlandia Lions Esports Arena, in addition to multiple local businesses situated on the fourth floor.

Owner of SmartCreative to present to business class on March 17

Matthew Randell, owner of SmartCreative, a Houghton-based marketing agency, will give a Zoom presentation on “Marketing For Any Business” on Wednesday, March 17 at 2:10p.m. as part of the BUS 447 Entrepreneurial Marketing class. He’ll be talking about the challenges of a small marketing budget and what agencies such as SmartCreative can offer. Benolkin (’17) Named Cargill’s 2020 Sales Professional of the Year

Matt Benolkin, a 2017 graduate of Finlandia’s International School of Business, was recognized by Cargill as the 2020 Sales Professional of the Year. Benolkin earned the award because of his consistent effort which increased new sales by $1.1 million in 2020. Benolkin was a Sports Management major and has worked at Cargill since graduating from Finlandia.
