Nordic Film Series returns to FAHC with Oscar-nominated comedy

HANCOCK — The staff at the Finnish American Heritage Center is pleased to announce the return of the highly-popular Nordic Film Series this month.

Price of Freedom Museum fall 2022 hours announced

HANCOCK, Mich. — Along with seeing the brilliant reds, oranges and yellows of the fall color season, visitors and locals will be able to see some impressive displays of blue and white in the Copper Country this fall.

In his post-doctoral research project, Dr. Samuli Korkalainen from Helsinki, Finland is focusing on Finnish-American church music from the late 19th century onwards.

HANCOCK — The Price of Freedom Museum, perhaps North America’s largest collection of Finnish war materials, memorabilia and artifacts, will be open to the public three days each week for the remainder of the summer.

Virtanen’s research to be featured in three PBS world premieres this weekend

On Sunday, March 13, the world premiere of three documentary films featuring the research and production-related work of Finnish & Nordic Studies Professor Hilary-Joy Virtanen will take place on PBS station WNMU-TV Marquette as part of their Festival! 22 pledge programming.
