FAFSA time is here, fill yours out before time is up on March 1

Calling all Michigan students, the FAFSA deadline is fast approaching. Don’t forget that all FAFSA’s need to be completed by March 1 in order to get the most out of your financial aid package for the coming year.

Deadline for scholarship for freshman women is March 1

Freshman women at Finlandia University have a unique opportunity to receive a scholarship that can be used during the 2018-19 academic year in the Virginia Fund Scholarship. Applications are now being accepted. They are due by March 1.

Refund Day is February 1

With the start of spring semester just around the corner, yay, most of you have probably started wondering…when will I get my refund?

Well we are here to tell you, the day is set. Refund Day is February 1 starting at 10 a.m.  Where you ask? Coordinator of Student Accounts Michelle Tanner’s office located in Old Main on the main floor in room 104.

Financial Aid moves to Old Main

Financial Aid at Finlandia University has made the move from the Jutila Center to Old Main. Financial Aid staff can now be found on the west side of the main floor of Finlandia’s original building. Convenient and free parking is available in the lot behind the building. All e-mail addresses, fax numbers and phone numbers associated with Financial Aid remain the same.

Students seeking financial aid must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA application can be completed on-line at fafsa.ed.gov. Federal and/or state financial aid programs also use information provided by the FAFSA.

Local health sciences students receive Portage Health Foundation Scholarship

Small communities need the support of its healers. With the Portage Health Foundation Scholarship, local students are given tuition aid to encourage them to go into the health sciences and in the hopes that they will remain in or return to the Upper Peninsula for their careers.

Deadline to apply for $20,000 competitive art scholarship at Finlandia is May 3

Finlandia University is accepting applications for the $20,000 Dave and Elsa Brule Scholarship now through May 3. This is a competitive scholarship for incoming students interested in studying art and design in Finlandia’s International School of Art & Design (ISAD). The annual Portage Health Foundation Scholarship opportunity for Finlandia University students studying healthcare and coming from Houghton, Keweenaw, Baraga or Ontonagon counties is now accepting applications.

Deadline to apply for Westerman Scholarship for Nursing is March 19

Students in Finlandia University’s BSN Program are invited to apply for the Samuel L. Westerman Scholarship for Nursing by noon on Monday, March 19.

This scholarship is awarded annually, and students may apply and renew the scholarship each year assuming they continue to meet the criteria.
