In December, Finlandia welcomed students, faculty and staff along with alumni, friends and family to a series of events in commemoration of the institution’s 125th anniversary. In honor of its Finnish and Lutheran heritage, Finlandia celebrated Finnish Independence Day for the 104th time at the Finnish American Heritage Center following a Sunday worship service at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Hancock.

The Mobile Food Pantry is Back at the Chapel on Dec. 3

On Thursday, December 3, Finlandia University will be hosting another Mobile Food Pantry in the parking lot between Old Main and the Chapel of St. Mattew. Organized through Feeding American West Michigan, mobile food pantries help fill the gap in hunger needs in a community, by supplementing the ongoing work of local pantries with much needed fresh produce, meat, and dairy. This year, Finlandia’s Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) chapter celebrates its fifth anniversary. The ALD is a National Honor Society for First-Year Success and to become a member, students must earn a 3.5 GPA or higher in their first semester at Finlandia.

Looking to Help? The Table Student Needs Pantry is in Need of Donations

Alumni and friends looking for a way to help FinnU students through the Covid-19 crisis can easily contribute.
