Expert ultra-endurance athlete coming to Keweenaw

Finlandia University Community Wellness, Michigan Tech Wellness and the Outdoor Adventure Program at Michigan Tech have teamed up to bring ultra-endurance athlete Heather Anderson to town for a Trail Tune-Up event on Saturday, April 15. Anderson is a Michigan native that has held the record for FKT (fastest known time) on the Appalachian and Pacific Crest Trails.

Coach Mo talks basketball and life in the U.P. on Finlandia Fridays

John Motherwell AKA Coach Mo or as his twitter followers know him @Coach_Mo joined Finlandia University’s ranks this spring as the head coach of the women’s basketball program. Give Drugs the Boot – April 22 – Finlandia Hall

Give Drugs the Boot has been moved to Saturday, April 22 at 12 p.m. near Finlandia Hall on the campus of Finlandia University. The event, which is hosted by Calumet High School’s S.A.D.D. (Students Against Destructive Decisions) Chapter, was originally scheduled for Saturday, April 1.

Bridget Durocher runs through Finlandia fitness

Finlandia Fridays gets fit this week with Bridget Durocher, Finlandia’s cross country coach, senior women administrator in athletics, and strength and conditioning center coordinator.

Durocher joined Finlandia University nearly one year ago and has never looked back. “It’s phenomenal, it is a place of opportunity where if you put forth the effort, you are going to be given ample opportunities,” said Durocher. Durocher named Senior Woman Administrator and Strength and Conditioning Center Coordinator

Finlandia University has named Bridget Durocher as the Senior Woman Administrator and Strength and Conditioning Center Coordinator. She has been working at her current positions since early January. Since August 3, 2016, Durocher has been the head coach for men’s and women’s cross country at Finlandia.
