Alumni Board Giving Day seeks to raise $30K for FinnU Safe Open

The Finlandia Alumni Board (FAB) is hosting its annual Giving Day on Sept. 1 in an effort to raise $30,000 to assist the university in it’s Safe Open. Funds raised will go toward the cost of baseline testing for all students and employees, as well as personal protective equipment (PPE) and other necessary equipment to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 on campus this fall.

Learn all about Fall 2020 with FinnU’s New Fall 2020 Web Pages

Finlandia is excited to launch its new Fall 2020 web pages just in time for the new semester. Students, employees and community members can conveniently find information as it pertains to their group on the new pages. Alumni Update: Bigalke Named Principal of Ludington Area Catholic School

Finlandia University alumna, Jan Bigalke, recently accepted the role as Principal at Ludington Area Catholic School. She earned an associate degree in nursing from Suomi College and has more than 16 years of experience working as a registered nurse. After getting her associates from Suomi College, Bigalke earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Ferris State University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Dayton.

Alumni Update: Ploe (’12) Accepts Role as Nurse Practitioner at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital

Finlandia University nursing alumna, Tina Ploe (’12), recently landed a job at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital and Clinics. She’ll be working alongside Aspirus orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists and nurses. Following earning her degree at FinnU, the Hancock native earned her Master of Science in Nursing Degree from the University of Cincinnati.

Gift a Finals Week Care Package to a FinnU Student

Finlandia’s Campus Ministry is asking for donations to send current students a Finals Week Care Package during their final exams at the end of the month. Finlandia Alumni Board to host second Giving Day for student textbooks on March 18

The Finlandia Alumni Board is hosting their second Giving Day on March 18, 2020. The day is dedicated to raising money to help students pay for textbooks. Last year, the FAB helped 39 students with their textbooks, raising almost $10,000. Their goal this year is to raise enough money to help 50 students.
