FinnU students can get 50 percent discount on tuition at Finnish university

Summer program accepting applications until April 30

A unique partnership between Finlandia University and JAMK University in Jyväskylä, Finlandia offers Finlandia students a 50 percent discount on tuition during the summer 2016 semester.

“We’re excited to offer this opportunity to all of our students,” said Kevin Manninen, dean of FinnU’s business school. “The incredibly discounted tuition rate makes it an affordable opportunity.”

Samuel L. Westerman Scholarship for Nursing 2016

Note: This information is for the 2016 scholarship. For 2017 information please contact nursing staff.

Applications open now, due by March 10

Nursing students heading into their junior or senior year with a GPA above 3.00 may be eligible for the Samuel L. Westerman Scholarship for Nursing. Application deadline for the scholarship is Thursday, March 10.

Academic Policies

Advising and Selection of Courses

Academic placement, course selection forms, academic program progress sheets, and class availability determine the initial semester schedule for incoming students. After check-in day, students must meet with their assigned academic advisor to review program requirements and career goals. The name of the academic advisor is printed in the upper right-hand corner of the student’s semester schedule.

Testing Center

The Testing Center oversees various test-taking activities for Finlandia and non-Finlandia students.

Testing Center services include testing accommodations (DSS participants), testing proctors, and ICE tests. All tests must be scheduled in advance.

Testing Center Fees

ICE (Finlandia students only): $95.00

Non-Finlandia Students Fees

Proctoring exams from other institutions Finlandia Students: $15.00 Non-Finlandia Students: $30.00

Tutoring and Learning Center

The Tutoring and Learning Center offers ALL Finlandia students FREE tutoring for help in many General Education courses and some upper level courses.

The TLC also offers study skill workshops, study groups, computer literacy development, and the use of a small computer lab.

Peer tutors are recommended by faculty and selected through the work-study program. Professional tutors hold bachelor’s, master’s and/or doctoral degrees in their fields and have professional teaching and/or tutoring experience.

Finlandia University adds degree in Marketing and Graphic Design

The Finlandia University Board of Directors approved a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Graphic Design. The new academic program was created collaboratively between faculty in the university’s International School of Business (ISB) and International School of Art & Design (ISAD).
