If you love Michigan’s great outdoors and are looking for a position with flexible hours, join the more than 1,200 seasonal park workers hired each spring/summer/fall to work in Michigan state parks and state harbors.
Seasonal park workers are key to shaping the customer experience. As the “face” of Michigan state parks, you’ll answer visitor questions, register campers, clean park buildings, maintain trails, mow grass and get creative in finding ways to help visitors create some lifelong memories.
These positions truly can make a difference in helping people fall in love with nature, camping, hiking, boating and more, and might just start you on a lifelong career path, too. In fact, many DNR Parks and Recreation Division employees started their careers as seasonal park workers and then – after gaining valuable experience – transitioned to rangers, park supervisors, accountants, trail coordinators and many other positions.

There’s a lot of jobs you could do. But on Mackinac Island you can have a truly memorable work experience, living in a place where other people escape on vacation and meeting peers from across the globe.
Seasonal jobs on Mackinac Island run from April through the end of the tourist season after Halloween, with college students taking many of the spots during the busiest summer months when they’re on break from school.
