The Finnish American Folk School has released its late fall program schedule! Established by the Finnish American Heritage Center and led by Phyllis Fredendall and Clare Zuraw, the Finnish American Folk School exists to ensure that Finnish-American folk traditions exist for centuries to come.

Local students show entrepreneurial skills at FinnU’s Shark Day competition

Finlandia University held its second annual Shark Day on Wednesday with teams of high school juniors and seniors from Calumet, Baraga Area and Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College’s career technical education program. Students competed to win a $2,500 scholarship to attend Finlandia University.

FinnU Student Nurses Association hosting blood drive November 4

Do your part to help save lives!

Hosted by Finlandia University Student Nurses Association (FUSNA), a community blood drive will be held on Friday, Nov. 4 from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Matthew in Hancock. Donors will go to the lower level of the Chapel to complete paperwork and check vital signs before giving blood.

Ponsse Einari Vidgrén Foundation Internship returns for Finlandia students in 2023

Application period is expected to open in December 2022

Ponsse and Finlandia University are pleased to announce an upcoming internship opportunity for a Finlandia University student. The internship will last approximately five to six weeks, including two at Ponsse North America in Rhinelander, Wisconsin and three at Ponsse Plc Headquarters in Vieremä, Finland. Student PTA Club Hurricane Ian Relief Project

Help out with hurricane relief!

Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida on Wednesday, September 28, as a Category 4 storm. Florida residents are in need of cleaning supplies to help make their homes livable again.

The Finlandia PTA club is collecting cleaning supplies now through October 17 to donate to people affected by Hurricane Ian and is asking supporters to offer what they can to the project.
