Applications now open for 2023 Ponsse Internship

Application deadline is Friday, January 27, 2023

Finlandia University students can now apply for the Ponsse Einari Vidgrén Foundation Internship. The internship will consist of approximately two weeks spent at Ponsse North America in Rhinelander, Wisconsin and approximately three weeks at Ponsse Plc headquarters in Vieremä, Finland, in May and June 2023.

Finlandia University raises $50K for student scholarships

Finlandia University alumni and friends donated over $50,000 toward student scholarships during FinnU’s sixth annual Giving Tuesday fundraiser in November. The official total raised was $52,356, including an anonymous contribution of $10,000 kicking off the event.

Finlandia President Tim Pinnow praised the efforts of those who supported the cause, which has become an important FinnU tradition as 100 percent of full-time domestic students currently receive financial aid.

The Finnish American Folk School has released its early winter newsletter! Established by the Finnish American Heritage Center and led by Phyllis Fredendall and Clare Zuraw, the Finnish American Folk School exists to ensure that Finnish-American folk traditions exist for centuries to come.

Finland’s Independence to be celebrated at Finlandia University

One of the Copper Country’s longest-standing cultural traditions will continue at Finlandia University on the evening of Tuesday, December 6, when the Finnish-founded school hosts its annual celebration of Finland’s Independence Day. The university has commemorated the establishment of the Republic of Finland each year since Finland achieved independence in 1917.

Donations are now open for Finlandia University’s annual celebration of generosity, Giving Tuesday!

#GivingTuesday has officially kicked off at Finlandia University, with donations now open for the annual celebration of generosity. All donations received will go toward annual scholarship programs to help make Finlandia affordable for current and future students.

First Destination Outcomes for the Class of 2022

Finlandia University’s Class of ’22 graduates are off to a great start! The Seaton Center for Vocation & Career has completed its inaugural First Destination Survey, a new tool to collect and summarize data on graduate employment outcomes and continuing education enrollment.
