Finlandia donates $12,500 to Houghton County Arena

Finlandia University has made a $12,500 donation to Portage Lake Multi-Educational Services, Inc. (PLM-ES) to assist with several major improvements to Houghton County Arena.

“We’ve been here 17 years, and to see these kinds of improvements being done is great,” Athletic Director Curtis Wittenberg said. “This is our home rink, and it’s nice to be able to pitch in.”

Darren Bausano welcomed to SCAS and ISB at Finlandia University

Finlandia University is happy to welcome Darren Bausano to the university’s family. Bausano is serving as the Administrative Assistant for Suomi College of Arts & Sciences and International School of Business.

Bausano has a bachelor’s degree in sports science from Northern Michigan University. One of the things that attracted Bausano to Finlandia was the opportunity to continue his education.
