Bob Ubbelohde left a lasting mark

This summer the Finlandia University community was devastated to learn former president Bob Ubbelohde had passed away at the age of 75.

Students and employees invited to participate in Heikinpäivä parade

All employees and students at Finlandia University are invited to join in the Heikinpäivä 2019 parade on Saturday in downtown Hancock. The parade begins at 11 a.m., and those interested in marching should plan to arrive around 10:30. The group will gather near the former Bridge School building on on Quincy Street (see map below).

Spring semester of language instruction to begin at FAHC

Professional Portrait Session Scheduled for Friday, January 25

All employees and students are invited to have a professional portrait taken on Friday, January 25 at Finlandia Hall. This session will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Students are invited to use the photo on LinkedIn as they prepare to enter the workforce. We will email them in the weeks following the photo shoot. Employees who attend will have the photo used on the employee directory. If personal copies of the photos are desired, please e-mail brad.beaudette@finlandia.edu.

MLK Day events kick off Sunday night with service sites on Monday

The fourth annual MLK Day celebration will get started Sunday night at 5 p.m. with a brief worship service, continue with the annual day of service on Monday, a community meal Monday night and conclude on Thursday with the film “When We Were Kings.”

Studying and streaming just got an upgrade.

Finlandia Hall was the recipient of an exciting present this holiday season. Students coming back for the winter semester will notice a nice improvement in the hall’s Wi-Fi.

Looking ahead to MLK Day of Service with Leann Fogle

Leann Fogle joins Finlandia Fridays to kick off the second half of season three. Fogle is the Director of Residence Life at Finlandia, and is apart of the planning committee for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.
