$1000 Visiting Scholarship Deadline Extended, Virtual Tours Available

Finlandia University is extending it’s $1,000 Visiting Scholarship deadline to August 1, 2020. This scholarship is only available to first-time full-time students in good standing at the University entering Fall 2020. To receive this award visits must be scheduled through the admissions office.

While FinnU is suspending the scheduling of on-campus tours through March 30, prospective students can schedule and complete a virtual tour with their admissions officer and still receive the $1,000 scholarship.

Brandon Bell Hired as New Director of Campus Safety & Security

Brandon Bell joined Finlandia University’s Campus Safety and Security this past February as the new director. He will be joining the Finlandia staff with 13 years of service with the United States Air Force. His most recent position includes supporting the MQ-9 Reaper Remotely Piloted Aircraft as a meteorologist for the Arizona Air National Guard.

FinnU Receives $47,589 Grant for Campus Security Technology

Finlandia University has received $47,589 from the Michigan Department of State Police and Michigan’s Campus Sexual Assault Grant Program reimbursement grant initiative towards campus security geared toward sexual assault prevention technology upgrades. The University will use these funds to add a new camera security system as well as an RFID card access system and enhance campus LED lighting in Finlandia Hall.
