MLK Day of Service – No regular classes

January 17

In 2016 a new tradition ingrained in service and community was inaugurated at Finlandia University to pay tribute to a man who had a dream – Martin Luther King, Jr. As a Baptist minister who saw no separation between faith and social activism, Dr. King changed the trajectory of civil rights in the United States. To honor his memory, classes are suspended for the day so that Finlandia students, staff, alumni, and friends of the university might make their little bit of difference by serving our community.

Martin Luther King Day, Monday, January 17, 2022, is a day of service for the Finlandia community.

There will be no classes held this day.

Students will have a variety of activities to participate in and around the Hancock area.

They will need to sign up by going to: finlandia.edu/mlkday

In addition to the day’s service activities, we will be showing the movie, Just Mercy, at 8:00 pm in 303 Wargelin.

More information is available at finlandia.edu/mlkday.
