Finlandia has three main types of scholarships; need- based,annual and endowed. Needs-based scholarships and annual scholarships are paid out using the Finlandia Fund. Endowed scholarships are created for a specific designation or type of student and paid out over a lifetime.
Available to degree-seeking first-year students who reside in Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois or Minnesota. Students must have a minimum of a 2.75 GPA to be eligible for this needs-based scholarship. The amount awarded will be individual to the recipient and their family need. This scholarship can be retained for four-years by maintaining a 2.75 GPA.
A need-based scholarship that, when combined with federal and state scholarships and grants covers a student’s entire tuition cost. The Rise Together Scholarship can be applied to the first two years at Finlandia. Eligibility Requirements include; being a Mighigan resident, must file FAFSA by March 1, First year, full-time enrollment in an associates degree program, Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) eligible, Pell eligible, Michigan Tuition Grant eligible, 2.75 cumulative high school GPA and must maintain a 2.75 GPA at FinnU. U.P. COMMITMENT GRANT

SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP
Finlandia is a learning community dedicated to academic excellence, spiritual growth and service. To showcase this, Finlandia offers incoming students the opportunity to earn a $2,000 scholarship for performing community service
BOARD OF TRUSTEE SCHOLARSHIP
$7,500 given to incoming students with an ACT score of 25 or SAT score of 1200 AND high school cumulative GPA of 3.5. Renewable by maintaining a GPA of 3.25 at Finlandia University.
PRESIDENT SCHOLARSHIP
$5,500 given to incoming students with an ACT score of 22 or SAT score of 1100 AND high school cumulative GPA of 3.25. Renewable by maintaining a GPA of 3.00 at Finlandia University.
DEAN SCHOLARSHIP
$3,500 given to incoming students with a high school cumulative GPA of 3.0. Renewable by maintaining a GPA of 2.75 at Finlandia.
FINNISH STRONG TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP
New incoming transfer students with at least a 2.0 grade point average are eligible for this $10,000 scholarship.
AMBASSADOR SCHOLARSHIP
$1,500 based on academic record and on-campus housing this scholarship is awarded to the first student from each state to enroll at Finlandia.
FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP
$1,000 per student for families who have two two family members enrolled full-time.
CHURCH MATCHING SCHOLARSHIP
Matches up to $1,000 pledged by a church.
LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP
$500 Available to students whose parent, grandparent or sibling graduated from Finlandia University.
In contrast to the total payout policy used for annual funds, endowed funds limit spending to a portion of the investment return. Therefore, the principal (your gift) can be invested in longer-term, higher-yielding assets with the objective of providing growth and a hedge against inflation.
