A native of Palm Springs, California, Cheryl Rogers resides in Glendale,
Arizona with her husband. Cheryl and her husband have two daughters.
She has been in the educational field since 1985. Her educational
experience includes being a developmental preschool teacher, school
counselor, Special Education teacher and, for the past 10 years, a
Kindergarten teacher in the Deer Valley Unified School District in
Phoenix, Arizona. Cheryl served on the Arizona State Board of
Education and on the committee for implementing teacher evaluations.
Cheryl has been on the council for the past eight years.
Cheryl’s heritage is Finnish on her mother’s side and England/Wales on
her father’s side. Her great-grandparents emigrated from Finland met
and married in the Upper Peninsula. After a time in the UP, they
moved to Portland, Oregon. Cheryl has traveled to Finland several
times to see her family and work on her Finnish family tree.
Cheryl enjoys spending time with her family, reading, traveling and
watching the Green Bay Packers.
