Exchange Affidavit FinSupport-Finlandia 2017-18 (PDF): Print this form, fill in all information, affix signatures of applicant AND sponsor, and then send original. Available support should be at least $5,400 USD per semester(Attached exchange affidavit pdf file below)

PASSPORT: Copy or scan the picture page of your passport

TRANSCRIPTS: Official post-secondary school transcripts: (grade report) with English translation. Please include courses for which student is currently enrolled. Scanned copies are acceptable, but original updated transcripts with English translation must be brought or sent to Finlandia before enrollment can be completed.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY TEST SCORE: Finlandia requires ONE of the following official scores for admission to degree programs: (TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, STEP (Japan only), SAT 1). However, exchange partner school is responsible for assuring English proficiency for exchange students. Test scores, if available, may be included.  

TOEFL  minimum 550 PBT, 213 CBT, 79 iBT

SAT 1 minimum 420 writing, 500 critical reading, (Finlandia University Institution Code Number for submitting TOEFL and SAT test scores: 1743)

IELTS minimum 6.0 overall band score (minimum 6.0 writing and speaking portion) (IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.)

PTE minimum 53 (NOTE: score reports available in 5 days)

STEP (Japan only) “STEP Pre-1st” allows for admission to any undergraduate degree program; “STEP 2A” allows for conditional admission to degree program (ESL or English language program required).

  1. Personal Statement: Explain your career goals and your reasons for choosing Finlandia University for your exchange experience. Discuss your academic work as well as any other work, volunteer experience, and any sport, theater, music, art or hobby interests.(1 page maximum)
  2. Courses: Students should select COURSES that fit their home institution’s requirements. COURSE DESCRIPTIONS including any pre-requisite requirements.  Note: 100 level courses are not open to exchange students.

Finlandia accepts applications and admits students on a rolling basis, but to be considered for Fall (August) Semester enrollment, all required application materials must be received by Finlandia University Admissions by June 15. 

To be considered for Spring (January) semester enrollment, all required application materials must be received by Finlandia University Admissions by October 15.

Flight arrangements should be made from Finland (or anywhere in Europe, etc.) to Chicago O’Hare (airport code ORD) and connect to Hancock, Michigan (airport code CMX).
