WHY A SPORT MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE?
The sport industry is expanding rapidly and there is an increasing need for qualified, business- savvy managers. FinnU’s Sport Management Certificate combines components of the academic curriculum from our BBA in Sports Management program with an experiential learning approach, so e-learners can build on their current knowledge and experiences for professional and career growth.
LAYOUT OF THE CLASS
The Sport Management certificate program is designed with the working individual in mind. The certificate consists of four online classes that explore the world of business in sport. The classes are five weeks long, ongoing and back-to-back. E-learners may take two courses simultaneously and complete the certificate in as few as 10 weeks, or courses can be taken one at a time for completion in 20 weeks.

COST
Each course costs $399 and includes all necessary materials. The total cost for the Sport Management certificate is $1596, with no additional charges for textbooks or hidden fees.
Certificate programs are not eligible for Federal Student Aid.
Facility & Game Event Management
Offers an overview of the operation, management, and financing of public and private assembly facilities, including arenas, coliseums, and stadiums, and the elements needed to manage sport games and events.

Sport Marketing
Applies the principles of promotion and marketing to college and high school athletics, professional sports, corporate fitness clubs and resorts.

Sport Business & Finance
Studies theory and applications of fundamental business practices as applied to sport management. Topics covered include revenue sources, budget development, ownership, taxation, financial analysis and economic impact studies. Emphasizes ticket, group, sponsorship, food service, and broadcast sales, as well as fundraising development.

Athletic Administration & International Sport
Introduces the management of amateur athletics, including review of the organizational structures of intercollegiate athletic departments, conferences, and the NCAA. Analyzes, in light of an expanding global sport industry, the organization and management of international sport, including the European “Club” structure and Olympic movements.
