Nursing Alum Suzanne Miron hosting A Taste of Success for Students on March 26

Finlandia University’s “A Taste of Success” alumni speaker series will continue on Tuesday, March 26 at noon with nursing alumna Suzanne Miron, RN, MSN, DNP at Mannerheim Central. All students are invited to join.

Improve Your Wellness at Inaugural Fair on March 30

The Copper Country community is invited to the Finnish American Heritage Center on Saturday, March 30 from 2 to 5 p.m. for the inaugural Wellness Fair at Finlandia University. The fair will include more than a half dozen vendors, several no-cost vital sign assessment and educational opportunities, and is free and open to anyone from the community.

Going Global with Ponsse Chairman Juha Vidgrén

Guest host Briana Gorman was visited on Finlandia Fridays this week by Juha Vidgrén, chairman of the board for Ponsse. Ponsse is a Finnish-based company that builds logging equipment.

Finlandia University’s Kailee Laplander has been named President-Elect of Michigan College Access Programs & Personnel (MI-CAPP). Laplander serves as TRIO Pre-College Programs Coordinator and has been at Finlandia since the fall of 2014.

Nordic Film Series Features True Story About Woman Empowered Through Art

The true story of a woman who survives an abusive relationship through the power of photography is the March feature presentation of the Finnish American Heritage Center’s Nordic Film Series.

Finlandia Nursing Students Fundraising to Study Abroad in England

During the summer of 2019 six Finlandia University students will travel to London to explore and compare the chronic disease management models and methods used in the USA and UK.

Students will visit healthcare facilities to learn about strategies used to improve health of chronically ill populations. They will also visit Oxford City to explore the influence of research done by Oxford University in this field.
