Sarah Semmler Smith Named New Campus Pastor

Finlandia University is excited to introduce its new pastor, Sarah Semmler Smith. Semmler Smith is moving to the area after spending the past six years as an associate pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, WI. 

“I am so pleased that Pastor Sarah is joining our community as Finlandia’s next campus pastor,” said FinnU’s President, Dr. Philip Johnson. “Sarah is theological astute, pastorally wise and fun. It’s a great blend for our campus community.”

Finnish ties grow stronger with Administrative Assistant Natalia Borgen

Finlandia University is pleased to welcome Natalia Borgen to the FinnU family. Borgen is serving as the Administrative Assistant for Suomi College of Arts & Sciences (SCAS) and International School of Business (ISB).

Student Volunteers Needed to Help Build Hancock Playground

The City of Hancock is looking for student volunteers to help build a playground at the Little League Field located in the Driving Park behind the Houghton County Arena. Shifts last three hours, and the the City is hoping for six volunteers on Friday, August 23 from 8am-4:30pm and Saturday, August 24 from 8am to completion.

39 Students Selected for Alumni Association Textbook Awards

The Finlandia Alumni Board (FAB) has selected 39 students for its first-ever Alumni Association Textbook Awards. The award is given out in the form of a $250 textbook voucher to North Wind Books, and winners can collect their award at North Wind Books. With over 150 applicants, narrowing it down to 39 was a daunting task.

Finlandia Ranked as One of the Best Online RN-BSN Programs in Michigan

 

Finlandia University’s Online RN-BSN program has been named one of 2019 – Best Online RN-BSN Programs in Michigan by Registered Nursing.

FinnU’s program ranked second in the State just ahead of Oakland University and just behind the University of Michigan – Flint.
