All week, Finlandia’s student body has been submitting dishes to be considered for one of FinnU’s most loved events, Diversity Dinner. After tallying the results, Dining Services is thrilled to announce this year’s menu.

De Yampert joins Superior Health Foundation’s board of directors

Dr. Fredi de Yampert will represent Houghton, Keweenaw and Baraga Counties on the Superior Health Foundation’s board of directors. De Yampert currently serves as VP of Academic Affairs and dean of the College of Health Sciences at Finlandia University.

Classes canceled January 30 due to inclement weather, Paavo Nurmi Center will open at 11:30 a.m.

Due to inclement weather, Finlandia University will be closed today, Monday, January 30 and no classes (in-person and remote) will be held. Only personnel who provide essential services to students should report to campus/work. The Maki Library will be closed, and the Paavo Nurmi Fitness Center will open at 11:30 a.m.

The Finlandia Scholarship for Art is a new competitive art scholarship opportunity available for Fall 2023 incoming freshmen or transfer students majoring in Art Therapy or Graphic Design.

Scholarship Requirements:

Franklin-Rahkonen named new chair of Finnish Council of America

Dr. Sharon Franklin-Rahkonen has been named the new leader of the Finnish Council of America at Finlandia University. Franklin-Rahkonen will serve as council chair, a position previously held by John Niska, who will now lead outreach on behalf of the organization.
