Marquette alumni and friends chapter hosting winter outing

Finlandia University alumni and friends in the Marquette area are invited to a snowshoe / cross country skiing outing at Blueberry Ridge Recreation Trails on Sunday, March 13 at 3:30 p.m.

This event is open to all alumni and friends of the university interested in getting together and enjoying some beautiful Upper Peninsula winter together. The event will be family friendly. Event goers are asked to bring their own equipment, with some snowshoes available for use.

Finlandia University adds degree in Marketing and Graphic Design

The Finlandia University Board of Directors approved a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Graphic Design. The new academic program was created collaboratively between faculty in the university’s International School of Business (ISB) and International School of Art & Design (ISAD). It will begin accepting students immediately.

10 students inducted during formal installation of program Monday

Monday night 10 Finlandia University students were inducted as charter members of the Finlandia University chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) during the school’s formal installation of the new program.

Feeding America and Finlandia’s The Table Distribute 16,000 pounds of food

They were bundled up in warm clothes on a frigid fall day with empty boxes in hand, waiting to be filled with food.

On September 18th, Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank (Feeding America), Campus Ministries’ The Table, and over 70 of Finlandia’s students volunteered to serve 16,000 pounds of food to 1,100 community members.

Finlandia’s business school ranked among most innovative small college business departments

Finlandia University’s International School of Business has been ranked among the most innovative small college business departments by Business Research Guide. The ranking was published on the organization’s website in September. Business Research Guide selected and ranked the top 50 from among the qualifying programs. Finlandia University was ranked 25th.

Finlandia sees 25 percent increase in incoming class

For the second straight year Finlandia University is welcoming in a bigger incoming group of students than the year before. This year the jump is 25 percent. At 287 students, it’s the second largest incoming group in school history.

“Our campus is buzzing with activity right now,” Vice President for Institutional Advancement Lenny Klaver said. “We’re honored that these students are choosing Finlandia University for their education, and we cannot wait to see what they accomplish while here.”
