Biography
I worked in acute care nursing for 32 years at what is now Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital. I was a med-surg, ICU, and ED nurse and most of my nursing experience was a working supervisor on the afternoon and night shifts. I have worked at Finlandia since the first class graduated and have taught both traditional BSN and RN-BSN classes since the program began.I developed the Leadership/Management and Community classes for the BSN and RN-BSN students and I still teach them today. I worked at both Aspirus and Finlandia for eight years to keep my skills in clinical current for our students but when I took over the Chair of the program, and because of my health, I had to sadly stop working at Aspirus. I enjoy the job of Chair because there are challenges of course, but also when students graduate, pass their NCLEX, and get wonderful opportunities to help our communities as RNs it is all worth it.
