William Knoblauch Is Assistant Professor of History at Finlandia

William KnoblauchHANCOCK, MI - The Suomi College of Arts & Sciences has welcomed William Knoblauch to its faculty roster as an assistant professor of history.

This fall Knoblauch is teaching American History, World History, and the History of Rock & Roll. In future special courses, he will examine the diverse thematic and regional aspects of American and world history.

Knoblauch notes that his teaching philosophy is student-centered and he appreciates that every student is unique in their talents and abilities.

"I strive to facilitate a student's intellectual journey, and work to ensure that thrives in class, continues outside the classroom, and endures well after graduation," he says.

Knoblauch has bachelor of art degrees in business/economics and history from Northland College, a master's of art in the history of the American West from Northern Arizona University, and a Ph.D. in 20th century American history from Ohio University.

His recent scholarly publications examine the Cold War nuclear arms race and its influence on American culture, particularly pop music, music videos, and video games.
