Along with our eleven degree programs, Suomi College of Arts and Sciences offers eighteen minors.  Minors permit students to use their free electives to deepen their understanding and expertise in an additional area of study.

Although not required, many college students choose to complete a minor.  In addition to bringing an element of cohesion to electives, minors enable students to pursue secondary areas of interest, develop a knowledge base and skills that complement their major, express themselves in a creative area, and/or learn more about themselves.

Minors typically require 21 to 24 credits and are counted towards one’s electives.  Some minors align with majors, and many minors stand on their own such as Christian Vocation, Environmental Studies, Finnish Studies, and Gender Studies to name a few.  Each minor outlines its particular requirements; check for a listing of all minors here. See the menu to the right for links to our stand alone minors.
