Why Arts & Sciences?

Finlandia's academic curriculum, with its emphasis on traditional liberal arts and professional training, empowers students to develop skills for immediate employment and/or graduate school.  All of the SCAS degree programs stimulate curiosity, exercise critical thinking, and develop communication skills.

Servant Leadership - Tanzania Summer 2011

For the sixth year in a row Finlandia students and faculty spent three weeks learning and serving in Tanzania. Hosted by Kisarawe Lutheran Jr. Seminary and Kitunda Relini Lutheran Church families the students took part in teaching courses at the school and family and community life in the outskirts of Dar es Salaam. This year’s participants were: Christopher Berkley, Jamie Clishe, David Hendrickson, Dawn Hilts, and Lindsey Usitalo with faculty leaders Rene Johnson and Mark Miron.
