Imagine a world where “slut” doesn’t make sense as an insult

November 14, 2017

Tonight Finlandia University welcomes Emily Linden, the founder of the Unslut Project. She will present at the Finnish American Heritage Center on Tuesday, November, 14 at 7 p.m.

Linden’s story began with her personal accounts of being “slut-shamed” in middle school. Upon hearing tragic stories of young women who committed suicide to escape bullying, Linden was moved to share her personal experiences of bullying to bring light to the heart-wrenching consequences of such behavior. She created a blog where she published diary entries about her bullying experiences which evolved into the Unslut project. Today, it is a network for support, awareness, and social change. Join Linden as she speaks about her powerfully positive project.

All are welcome to attend this free It’s On Us Event, funded by MSP-CSA-24-17. Learn more about the It’s On Us event series at finlandia.edu/itsonus and about The UnSlut Project at unslutproject.com.
