Parade of Nations returns home to Quincy Green

Dozens of Finlandia University students and employees played part in representing nearly 60 countries in Saturday’s Parade of Nations.

Celebrating cultural diversity in the Keweenaw, floats and marchers with flags and banners walked down Quincy Street, crossed the Portage Lift Bridge and continued through downtown Houghton. Meet Brittney, Liberal Arts Senior at Finlandia

MEET Brittney

Hometown: Anchorage, Alaska

Class: Senior

Putting “Student” into “Student Athlete”

Brittney flew into Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula as a high school senior, and immediately fell in love with it. It offered her exactly the kind of atmosphere she wanted: A small campus with a personal touch. This is the place she was going to come to play NCAA Division III hockey.

Plus, the university offered her a really unique outdoor experience with some of the snowboarding, snowmobiling, downhill skiing, Nordic skiing, hiking and kayaking [...]
