Dr. Richard Gee earns 2022 Distinguished Faculty Award

Dr. Richard Gee joined Finlandia’s Suomi College of Arts & Sciences in 2012 when he was brought on to develop the University’s Criminal Justice curriculum. After revising, creating and teaching more than 30 different courses and establishing multiple articulation agreements for continued learning, Gee was honored at this year’s spring commencement with the 2022 Board of Trustees Distinguished Faculty Award.

New articulation agreement with NMU provides clear pathway to MSW

Finlandia University is excited to announce a new articulation agreement between FinnU and Northern Michigan University that will provide a clear pathway for students interested in pursing a Master’s of Social Work degree.

“We developed this partnership so that any students in those PsychologySociology or Criminal Justice majors can then qualify for what we’re calling the Early Assurance Program into Northern’s MSW program,” said Dr. Jason Oyadomari, Dean of the Suomi College of Arts & Sciences.

Finlandia University’s Suomi College of Arts and Sciences (SCAS) will be hosting a lecture series showcasing four assistant professors from mid-March until early April in the Chapel of St.Matthew. The Assistant Professors presenting include Dr. Jeff Pettibone (Psychology), Dr. Patricia Grosse (Philosophy), Dr. Mike Reay (Sociology), and Dr. Carolyn Dekker (English). The time of year has come for Finlandia University seniors to begin wrapping up their studies, and begin to think about the future. Suomi College of Arts & Sciences (SCAS) seniors will be presenting on their capstones Thursday, May 2 in Wargelin Hall in Classroom 303.
