Soup and Salad fundraiser for Service and Learning in Tanzania returns March 2

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Hancock is set to host the annual Soup and Salad Lunch as well as the silent auction fundraiser for this year’s Service and Learning in Tanzania experience for Finlandia University students.

Six Finlandia University students and two staff members traveled to Tanzania in May for the 11th annual Service and Learning in Tanzania experience.

During their three weeks in Tanzania, students participate in curricular and co-curricular activities at Kisarawe Lutheran Jr. Seminary (a secondary school), shadow nurses at the national hospital, and stay with host families. These relationship building opportunities along with accompanying reflection activities help students grow in their understanding of Servant Leadership and engage in self-exploration.
