Campus Pastor Soren Schmidt talks eventful April and Campus Ministry

With Easter right around the corner, campus pastor Soren Schmidt visited Finlandia Fridays this week to promote the multitude of events taking place within the next month. Imagine a world where “slut” doesn’t make sense as an insult

Tonight Finlandia University welcomes Emily Linden, the founder of the Unslut Project. She will present at the Finnish American Heritage Center on Tuesday, November, 14 at 7 p.m.

Linden’s story began with her personal accounts of being “slut-shamed” in middle school. Finlandia welcomes acclaimed poet, Kelly Tsai

On Thursday, November 9, nationally known and award-winning poet, Kelly Tsai, will present in the Jutila Center, Room 323, at 8 p.m, as part of the Finlandia It’s On Us event series. Tsai is an artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Her work as a performance poet has been featured at over 700 venues worldwide.

It’s On Us Week of Action with Erin Barnett on Finlandia Fridays

This week Finlandia Fridays was visited by Dean of Students Erin Barnett to promote the campus wide It’s On Us campaign. It’s On Us is a national campaign that was started by former Vice President Joe Biden that raises awareness for sexual assault. Finlandia was awarded a grant from the Michigan State Police to advocate the campaign. The Finlandia Young Women’s Caucus for Art will give away blank t-shirts for the upcoming Clothesline Project during the Denim & R.A.I.N.N. day event on Thursday, September 21 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Finlandia Hall as part of the It’s On Us event series.

Wear Denim on R.A.I.N.N. Day to Support Sexual Assault Survivors

Wear denim on R.A.I.N.N. day, Thursday, September 21 to show support for survivors of sexual assault. In conjunction, campus clubs will host activities at Finlandia Hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. as part of the It’s On Us event series.
