On Thursday, November 5, Finlandia University will be hosting a Mobile Food Pantry in the parking lot between Old Main and the Chapel of St. Mattew. Organized through Feeding American West Michigan, mobile food pantries help fill the gap in hunger needs in a community, by supplementing the ongoing work of local pantries with much needed fresh produce, meat, and dairy. On October 10, Feeding America West Michigan,in partnership with Finlandia University, will provide a food distribution to people in need at Baraga Area High School. The distribution will take place at 4:30 p.m.
NOTE: The event has been moved inside to the small gym. Volunteers will enter the school by the flag pole. Those coming to get food should follow volunteer instruction upon arriving at the school.

On April 19, 2018 Finlandia Students and Staff traveled to Ontonagon High School to help feed 271 individuals, representing 1050 family members in the community.
“More people came through after registration was closed, but we got to give all the food away to local families. Ontonagon [High School] was pleased and Feeding America was thrilled with the event,” said Soren Schmidt, Campus Pastor.

Residents of Ontonagon County are invited to a Mobile Food Pantry on Thursday, April 19 beginning at 4 at Ontonagon High School. The event is being put on by Finlandia University, Ontonagon Area School District, Feeding America West Michigan and the Western U.P. Food Bank.
