Finlandia offering summer lodging for temporary seasonal employees

Finlandia University will be opening the doors of Finlandia Hall this summer for temporary seasonal employees of the Keweenaw looking for a place to stay. 

Beginning May 10, FinnU will have single and double occupancy rooms available for nightly or weekly use. This year, Finlandia’s Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) chapter celebrates its fifth anniversary. The ALD is a National Honor Society for First-Year Success and to become a member, students must earn a 3.5 GPA or higher in their first semester at Finlandia.

Finlandia Prepares for Fall 2020

Students are making their way back to Finlandia’s campus for the Fall 2020 semester. As the university prepares to welcome approximately 400 students, new protocols and practices are being enforced to help mitigate the spread of Covid-19 on campus and in the Keweenaw community.

FinnU Receives $47,589 Grant for Campus Security Technology

Finlandia University has received $47,589 from the Michigan Department of State Police and Michigan’s Campus Sexual Assault Grant Program reimbursement grant initiative towards campus security geared toward sexual assault prevention technology upgrades. The University will use these funds to add a new camera security system as well as an RFID card access system and enhance campus LED lighting in Finlandia Hall.

FinnU Now Offers Test-Optional Admissions

Finlandia University is excited to join other progressive universities by adopting a test-optional admissions policy. As a result, students can opt-out of providing standardized test scores such as the SAT/ACT as part of their admissions decision. Finlandia Highest Ranked UP School for “Most Affordable Schools in Michigan for a Bachelor’s Degree” Ranking

Finlandia University is celebrating another award, this time for affordability. FinnU was ranked by Affordable Schools as the most affordable school in the Upper Peninsula as part of the Most Affordable Schools in Michigan for a Bachelor’s Degree.
