2022 Juried Student Exhibition Awards & Reception: Photo Gallery

On April 7, Finlandia’s International School of Art & Design hosted its annual reception and award ceremony for the 2022 Juried Student Exhibition. Friends, family, faculty and staff gathered at the Finlandia Reflections Gallery to view and discuss artwork submitted by students from across campus.  Finlandia University Gallery Director Carrie Flaspohler presented student awards in the categories of 2D, 3D, Freshman and a Purchase Award.

Local students looking forward to next FinnU Shark Day

Taking a spin on the hit TV show “Shark Tank”, Finlandia University held its inaugural FinnU Shark Day on Wednesday, March 9 with more than 60 high school students from L’anse, Baraga Area and Calumet in attendance. Students competed for the chance to win a $2,500 scholarship in the first event of its type on Finlandia’s campus.

Finlandia University Gallery is hosting two upcoming events on Feb. 3 and 24. Hancock, MIIntelligent.com has named Finlandia University one of the Best Colleges in Michigan in 2022 for the second year in a row.

Embrace Your Sisu: A new kind of competition designed for 2020

ISAD program undergoing changes for Fall 2021

Finlandia’s International School of Art & Design (ISAD) will be undergoing program changes beginning in the Fall 2021. 

Beginning fall 2021, FinnU will no longer accept new students into the Fiber & Fashion, Intermedia, and Ceramic Design bachelor degree programs. These programs are not completely closed, but enrollment interest over the years has waned and ISAD Dean Denise Vandeville says the programs will be suspended until enrollment interest grows and the school can sustain its re-emergence. Finlandia University announces Beihai University of Art & Design as first sister school in Asia

Finlandia University is proud to announce further growth to an already fruitful relationship with Beihai College of Arts and Design in Beihai China.
