Start planning your summer Finland study abroad trip

February 28, 2018

Discounted price available to FinnU students

A unique partnership between Finlandia University and JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Finlandia offers Finlandia students a great discount on tuition during the summer 2018 semester. The program includes the opportunity to study abroad while earning credits and exploring all Finland has to offer.

“JAMK University Study Abroad program was an amazing opportunity that I’m so glad I took advantage of,” said Jennifer Hueter, a 2017 graduate of Finlandia’s International School of Business. “The staff and tutors at JAMK University invited us to their hometown of Jyväskylä, Finland with open arms and guided us during our stay. From the boat cruise, to the traditional sauna night, to the football event, tours of the city, nightlife and learning with such awesome professors and students from all around the world. I highly recommend doing. It will be an opportunity of a lifetime.”

JAMK offers a slew of three-to-six credit options that Finlandia students can take advantage of, with most of them taking place during a three-week period of time in June. The majority of the classes are related to business and cross-cultural communication, but many courses could fill elective spots for students in other fields of study.

“We’re excited to offer this opportunity to all of our students,” said Kevin Manninen, dean of FinnU’s business school. “The incredibly discounted tuition rate makes it an affordable opportunity.”

Registration will open March 1 and close April 15, meaning now is the opportunity students need to speak with their advisors to see how they can make this work for them.

The program includes a visit to Helsinki and optional study tours to St. Petersburg, Russia and Stockholm, Sweden. Learn more about the program by visiting the Study Abroad page at on Finlandia’s website or by contacting Manninen at (906) 487-7371 or kevin.manninen@finlandia.edu.
