Senior art students Levi Grannis and Hannah Scott-Moore discuss upcoming Diploma Works Exhibition

April 20, 2018

Levi Grannis and Hannah Scott-Moore dropped by Finlandia Fridays this week to talk about the annual Diploma Works Exhibition. Both students are graduating from the International School for Art + Design (ISAD). The exhibition highlights work from the graduating class. This year 10 seniors will have work on display. Levi Grannis and Hannah Scott-Moore

Grannis will be graduating with a degree in intermedia, allowing Grannis “to not strictly use just one type of media, I get to use all of them for further creative expression.” Scott-Moore will be graduating with a degree in graphic design, a career field she stumbled upon after taking an art history class with ISAD Dean Denise Vandeville.

With the exhibition opening in a week, Grannis reflected on past experiences at the exhibit. “What I have gained from going in the past, is seeing what to do and what not to do. It was nice to see what the faculty expects, and to take the mystery out of it.” Both Grannis and Scott-Moore believe the show will be strong and are excited to see the culmination of all their hard work.

Scott-Moore and Grannis mentioned that the Finlandia community, as well as the resources offered by the staff has added to their Finlandia experiences. Scott-Moore will be taking advantage of one of these opportunities, going on the annual Tanzania trip with René Johnson. Hearing about the trip her first year at FinnU, Scott-Moore has been looking forward to going for four years. For more information on the Tanzania trip, check out the links below.

The Diploma Works Exhibition will open Saturday, April 28 at 7 p.m. at the Finlandia University Gallery inside of the Finnish American Heritage Center.
