Student representative Matt McLaughlin on Finlandia Fridays

April 28, 2017

On this season’s final episode of Finlandia Fridays, the weekly interview series features student representative Matt McLaughlin. Each year one outstanding senior is chosen as the student rep. To be eligible, a student must maintain a 3.9 GPA and be actively involved with the FinnU campus. 496A0159

It will be a busy weekend for McLaughin, not only will he be graduating with highest honors at Finlandia University he will also be commissioning as an officer in the U.S. Army through his work with Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC). With the title of student rep, McLaughlin is given the honor of speaking at graduation, a speech he says is still in the works.

McLaughlin tributes his success in his studies and in ROTC to late nights of studying and hard work. He doesn’t fail to mention that his advisors at Finlandia University also greatly aided him along the way presenting him with the tools he needed to be successful. Any student knows keeping up a GPA of 3.9 is an extremely challenging feat in and of itself, but add in the additional extracurriculars, and it truly shows what made him stand out as this year’s Finlandia University student rep.

Finlandia Fridays would like to thank all those who tuned in this exciting first season and we would like to thank everyone who made this show possible. We look forward to continuing in this new found Friday tradition and are excited for things to come.

Until next time…”See you next Friday”
