Alumna Kathleen Harmon (’86) named Chief Clinical Officer of PatientSafe Solutions

PatientSafe Solutions, an innovation leader in mobile Clinical Communication & Collaboration (CC&C) solutions, announced today that Kathleen Harmon, MS, RN, CENP (’86) has joined the company as Chief Clinical Officer. Bringing more than 30 years of nursing and executive experience to PatientSafe, Harmon will be responsible for setting the clinical vision for the company. Her unique, holistic and outcomes-driven approach will help transform care delivery through mobility initiatives that can improve an organization’s financial health, clinician satisfaction and patient-centric care.

Harmon joins PatientSafe from Sphere3, where she served as Chief Nurse Executive. In that role, she was responsible for clinical leadership, development of clinical collaboration workflows, and leveraging clinical communication data to provide wholistic, meaningful information at the point of care. Prior to Sphere3, Kathleen served as Chief Nursing Executive at Burwood Group and led the healthcare practice focusing on clinical communication strategy, deployments, and achieving desired outcomes in top academic teaching systems and large IDNs.

Harmon holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Healthcare Administration and Organizational Leadership from Concordia University. She received her nursing degree from Finlandia University. Harmon holds AONE’s Certified in Executive Nursing Practice credentials. She’s a frequent author and speaker on CC&C solution design, deployment and outcomes management.

Harmon graduated from Suomi College with a degree in nursing in 1986, four months after giving birth to her first child. Her full story was featured in the Fall 2017 Donor Edition of the Bridge magazine. She recently served as the Alumni Speaker at the 2018 Commencement and joined the Board of Trustees in 2018 as well.
