Finlandia gains new Snapchat filter

September 21, 2016

Quick, pull out your phone, open Snapchat, take that perfect selfie and start swiping. Why? Because the Finlandia University Snapchat filter is officially active!

The filter can be applied to any photo or video taken on Finlandia’s main campus – reaching roughly from the Paavo Nurmi Center to Old Main.

The filter features a Finnish flag-inspired design, and it’s of course free for anyone to use. It was designed by Finlandia’s Creative Director Brad Beaudette.

FinnU expanding presence on Snapchat

The filter is the latest step toward a more active presence on the popular social networking app for Finlandia University, thanks to the hard work of Media Intern Walker Enstad.

“We know students are extremely active on Snapchat, and we’re happy to provide much-needed information where they are,” Director of Marketing and Communications Michael H. Babcock said. “Enstad is the man behind the camera, and he’s been a great asset to us so far.”

Enstad is an upperclassmen studying International Business in Finlandia’s International School of Business.

Finlandia’s Snapchat username is “FinlandiaU” – to follow FinnU, simply capture the Snapcode found at the bottom of this post.

Recent stories on Finlandia’s snapchat account have included a live look-in at the university’s first-ever home golf meet, a stroll through the beautiful Maki Library and a behind-the-scenes look at visiting Finnish artist Päivi Mikola talking to students in Finlandia’s International School of Art & Design.
