Finlandia University Women's Hockey player Stephanie LaMore is the student-athlete of the week. LaMore, a 5-8 freshman goaltender from Dexter, Michigan has been a force between the pipes this season. LaMore ranks 3rd in NCHA save percentage (.926) and 10th in goals against average (2.92) . This past weekend LaMore made 92 saves in 2 games against UW-Superior. She has played in 10 games this season with a 2-7 overall record. She is currently enrolled in Finlandia's Nursing Program. She is the daugther of Darrell LaMore.

Finlandia Women's Basketball tandem reaches 1000 point milestone
Hancock, MI. -- January 19, 2010: Finlandia University seniors Ally Tincknell (Negaunee, MI.) and Jodi Riutta (Houghton, MI.) both surpassed the 1000 point plateau earlier this season in a game versus Luther College. Tincknell and Riutta are four-year starters for the Lions, amassing 1108 and 1101 career points respectively. Tincknell is averaging a team-leading 14 points and 8 rebounds per game this season while Riutta averages 13 points and 6 rebounds.
Tincknell and Riutta are also outstanding students at Finlandia. Tincknell has a 3.72 cumulative GPA in Elementary Education and is the president of the Student Senate. Riutta will graduate with a degree in Business Administration and carries a 3.51 cumulative GPA.
Finlandia’s next home game is Tuesday, February 9 against Northland International University.
