Friday Midnight Madness Will Kick Off Lions' Basketball

HANCOCK, MI -Friday, October 14, 2011, starting at 11:00 p.m., the Finlandia University Men's and Women's Basketball teams will kick-off their 2011-12 season with a "Midnight Madness Tailgate Event" at the Paavo Nurmi Center, Hancock.

Everyone is invited to attend, meet the 2011-12 Lions, and enjoy an exciting night watching the Men's and Women's Basketball teams show off their talents on the court.

The Midnight Madness schedule is below.

11:00 p.m.: Doors open. The Finlandia Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will sell snacks, including hot dogs and hamburgers, and coaches and staff will be introduced.

12:00 Midnight: The ceremonies begin. The Women's and Men's Basketball team members will be introduced, followed by a men's "Slam Dunk" contest and a 3-point contest.

Next the Women's team will take on the Men's team, followed by a Women's team scrimmage, then a Men's team scrimmage.
