Liberal Studies B.A.: Pre-Law Advising Program

Finlandia's Pre-Law program blends coursework, practical experience, and individual advising to help you prepare for law school and the LSAT. While there is no distinct pre-law major at Finlandia, the pre-law program directs you toward developing your analytical, creative, and logical reasoning abilities through a suggested list of courses. It also strengthens your reading, debating, and written and verbal communication skills. In addition to the suggested list of courses, students will choose one of the many major programs of study at Finlandia, including Liberal Studies, Criminal Justice, Social Sciences, Psychology, and Business.

The pursuit of this essential knowledge is at the heart of the FU liberal arts experience. The range of acceptable pre-law college majors is very broad. What's important is the intensity and depth of your undergraduate program and your academic performance.

According to the American Law School Admissions Council, law schools want students who can think critically and write well, and who have some understanding of the forces that have shaped the human experience. These attributes can be acquired in any number of college courses, whether in the arts and humanities, the social sciences, or the natural sciences. (www.lsac.org

Finlandia's Pre-Law program, through one of several bachelor of arts majors of your choosing, blends coursework, practical experience, and individual advising to help you prepare for law school and the LSAT.
