"Forgotten" Writing Contest
Finlandia University Spring 2013 Writing Contest
Cash Prizes!
First Prize: $100 and publication
Honorable Mention: $50
Every day, we forget something: Someone's birthday, an errand, a name, or answers to that test that we studied so hard to pass. Why do we forget things both trivial and monumental? Entire nations conveniently forget (or refuse to acknowledge) significant historical events, such as the Armenian genocide revealed in the finlandia spring 2013 Campus Read The Gendarme.
What has been forgotten that should be remembered? It could be a personal event or notable person in your life. Perhaps you wish to go larger scale with a national, international, or universal happening. Bring the forgotten to the surface for reflection, reexamination, or resurrection through fiction, non-fiction, or poetry. Whatever genre you chose, it should reflect the theme: "Forgotten."
