Finlandia Recycles! Poster

In our efforts to make Finlandia University a cleaner and more sustainable institution, the university's Sustainability Committee and Maintenance Department have started a new recycling program in cooperation with Waste-Management, Inc.

Please take a look around campus. You'll notice lots of new, Finlandia-blue recycling containers.

So, instead of trashing your paper, plastic, or aluminum, recycle it! Please place all appropriate, clean, and compacted materials in the new bins.

Confused about what can and can't be recycled?

Look around for brief lists of recyclable materials posted near these bins around campus.

Download a printable PDF file of the list of recyclable and non-recyclable materials.

Recycling can help Finlandia save money!

In addition to being good for the environment, recycling can help Finlandia University save money. The more clean, compacted recycling Finlandia produces, the less expense for trash disposal.

But we need your help.

Inform your friends. Make smart choices. Recycling will pay dividends if we, as a community, all do our part.

If you have any questions, please contact Suzanne Van Dam (suzanne.vandam@finlandia.edu) or any of the other Sustainability Committee Members: Diane Miller, Rene Johnson, Bill Knoblauch, Carrie Flaspohler, or Rick Loduha. We're all excited about these positive changes which will help Finlandia become a more modern, efficient, and beautiful university.
